Haciēid Se (/hac/ /jid/ [stick] [square]) is a subtropical Town located in Hute Lapezo Parish, Krièvlùji̊ La Provence, within the Dalandic Empire.

The name Haciēid Se is derived from the Tauric language, as Haciēid Se was founded by Trënmèj Lloyd, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Haciēid Se has a yearly average temperature of 30°C (86°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a blistering 34°C (93°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a warm 27°C (80°F). Haciēid Se receives an average of 297 cm/y (116 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Haciēid Se covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2144 m (7034 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Haciēid Se was founded durring the early 11th century, by Trënmèj Lloyd. The establishment of Haciēid Se suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Haciēid Se was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 11th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Haciēid Se is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Haciēid Se is is constructed arround a series of broad packed earth mainstreets which form overlapping circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The town is the proud owner of a properly designed set of renforced walls made from mighty querried stone blocks. Their construction and material choices would make a dwarf weap with joy, for each and every part of the elaborate fortifications are purly functional and robust well byond reason. Even nonexperts can tell the walls are an excelent defencive structure. Haciēid Se's exceptionaly well made fortifications are suffering from significent damage, so much so that examples can be pointed to no matter which section one might have within their line of site, and most of which render sections inoperable at present.

A look around Haciēid Se shows Haciēid Se as a den of corruption. Birbes can be seen changing hands openly, such that it must be customary to do so and must have been for a long time. The locals have no fear, no annoyance at the state of things, it simply is. The town has another layer to it as well. Locals can be overheard having academic discussions, as well as talking about scholarly subjects in general. It’s quite clear Haciēid Se places a lot of value on education and being a learned individual, or at least, faking it.

Haciēid Se possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Haciēid Se has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Haciēid Se has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Haciēid Se has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Haciēid Se has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Haciēid Se's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

In Haciēid Se leaves and flower petals never touch the ground.

The Herd Animal, Stag near Haciēid Se are known to be quite timid.

Haciēid Se's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves embarking on a group pilgrimage to channel Necromancy energies of tier 2 via oratory performances.

Points of Interest

Many of Haciēid Se’s structures date back to the ancient past and a long-vanished culture. They have unique architectural traits, perhaps being made of some strange substance or with uncanny qualities. The locals find them too useful or too durable to destroy, but the buildings often have unpleasant little surprises in their under-explored corners, and there may be greater structures still buried by long ages beneath Haciēid Se’s streets.

Haciēid Se's is something of a geological and arcane anomaly, as neither physical nor magical law entirely explains its formation.

POI

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Haciēid Se was attacked by savage rat ogress living nearby. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Haciēid Se lost 208 people, 264 livestock, and 30 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 176, when members of Haciēid Se's militia enacted an operation to escort a particular vault to a safe location. The operation was complicated by one of the key objectives in the operation requiring sticking to a very strict and short time table. The conflict ended with the defense of the vault against a siege, which ended in victory for Haciēid Se's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Haciēid Se's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
